The Huangyao Ancient Town Resort is inspired by the natural environment and topography, the local culture and wildlife, and the timeless flow of the river that has washed and carved the landscape.

The gently curving forms of the building respond to the lines found on the topography. In contrast, combined with the surrounding karst hills lines and ancient trees, the design almost disappears to create an extraordinary “place”, a destination. The overall design comprises curved mountain-like forms that rise as if born from the landscape.
